Our Story
In the heart of LIT Wax Works lies our story – a journey of transformation, hope, and the pursuit of a more meaningful existence. It began amidst the fast-paced, unfulfilling world of a large media company, where we found ourselves grappling with the emptiness of corporate life.
Our story is intertwined with our personal struggles and dreams. My wife, a compassionate NICU nurse, dedicated her early career to caring for the native population at the Alaska Native Medical Center. Her leap of faith brought us from the serene landscapes of Alaska to the hustle of Georgia, believing in a future we could build together.

Profits over People
In Georgia, her passion for patient care led her to explore the local medical industry. She sought to provide outpatient care in a local plastic surgeon's clinic, hoping to find fulfillment. But the harsh reality of an environment that prioritized profit over patient and staff well-being quickly became apparent. Her experiences in local hospitals mirrored this disillusionment, leaving her yearning for a change that aligned more closely with her values and dedication to genuine care.
Amidst these challenges, we both found ourselves at a crossroads. Our marriage, once a source of warmth and connection, began to feel the strain of our draining careers and the diminishing time we had for each other. The choice was stark and unequivocal – to continue down our current paths or to take a bold leap towards change. We chose the latter, deciding to break free from the shackles of unfulfilling work. We liquidated our 401k, risking it all to embark on a new venture.
The catalyst for this change came in the form of a candle-making workshop. Seeking a respite from our routines, we discovered a shared passion in the art of crafting candles. This simple, immersive experience ignited a spark that would illuminate our path forward. Crafting candles, blending waxes and scents, became not just therapeutic but also revelatory.
